Woman’s leg was amputated after it got stuck in a moving walkway at Bangkok airport. The 57-year-old woman was about to get on her flight from Bangkok’s Don Mueang airport to Nakhon Si Thammarat province but had her leg stuck in the moving walkway which was amputated by a medical team.
Leg Couldn’t Be Reattached
The medical team had no choice but to amputate her leg to mitigate any further damage to the body. The passenger was transferred to a nearby hospital but the medical staff said they couldn’t reattach the leg. The airport director Karun Thanakuljeerapat suspended the service of all the moving walkways after the incident.
Airport Will Pay The Medical Costs
The airport director Karun insisted that Don Mueang international airport will bear the cost of all the medical expenses of the woman. He held a press conference where he said he was open for negotiations and will make sure no such incident occurs in the future.
