Now the iconic sheep sweater is going up for auction by Sotheby’s in New York City between August 31 and September 14 of 2023.
Expected to Land At $80,000
While the exact figures are unknown, the bazaar reported that it is expected to fetch $50,000 to $80,000 when it goes for sale for the very first time. Cynthia Houlton, Sotheby’s global head of fashion and accessories said they are honored to offer the “meticulously preserved” sweater, which “carries the whispers of Princess Diana’s grace, charm” at the auction.

The first thing historic about the sweater is the personality of Princess Diana, no one could disagree on that. The second special thing about the sweater is the arrangement of white sheeps around just one black sheep. “Many believed Princess Diana’s ‘black sheep’ jumper hinted at her feelings of being an outsider in the Royal family”, the Daily Mail wrote.
