The US former president Donald Trump has been arrested at the federal courthouse in Florida. Trump was formally charged with all the 37 felonies including the mishandling of the national security documents which, according to the prosecutors, were kept in the bathroom under showers. He pleaded not guilty to all the 37 charges against him.
No Mugshot And Handcuffs
The billionaire ex-president is the first ever president of the US to be charged with federal crimes. Trump had his fingerprints taken but he was neither handcuffed nor had his mugshot taken because of security concerns. Trump’s attorney and spokesperson Alina Habb said Trump was in a unique position and “he doesn’t need to be given a mugshot, obviously”.
Trump Says He is Innocent
Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed he has done nothing wrong as he declassified the documents before he brought them home. However Trump didn’t provide any evidence where he did declassify the documents as his audio suggested something else. If convicted Trump could face up to decades in prison as each charge carries a sentence of five to twenty years.
