Children Found Alive After Missing For 40 Days in Amazon

Four kids that went missing in the Amazon Forest for 40 days were found alive and reunited with their loved ones. All four children were admitted to the central military hospital in the Colombian capital, Bogota, for recovery. The search and rescue operation went on for weeks as the Colombian military was hopeful to find all the missing siblings of the Plane that crashed on 1 May.

The Plane Was Discovered Week Before

All four children, aged 13, nine, five and one, wandered in the Amazon rainforest for 40 days since the plane crashed on 1 May. The Columbian authorities successfully discovered the plane wreckage on 18th of May but they were unsuccessful in locating the children back then. The Cessna 206 light plane crash killed three people, including the mother of children Magdalena Mucutuy, the pilot and the co-pilot.

The Eldest Child Guided Others

According to the Columbian rescue officials, all the four children were safe because of the leadership of the eldest sister, who guided the others for 40 days. The children could have separated in the jungle if it was not for the knowledge of the eldest sibling to guide the younger ones around the jingle, the authorities said.
