Japanese Youtuber Arrested Over Celebrity Threats

Japanese authorities have arrested a YouTuber for threatening a celebrity when he was out of the country. A guy named Yoshikazu Higashitani threatened and caused damage to his business and an entrepreneur last year. He was living in the UAE at that time and the Japanese police issued an arrest warrant for him.

Mr Higashitani Was A Parliament Member

Mr Higashitani was a Japanese parliament member before he was kicked out for absentees. He was elected from the Seijika-joshi-48 party and spent all seven months in Dubai, without attending a single session of the parliament. According to the Japanese media, he didn’t attend any parliament session because he was afraid to be brought to justice for defamation claims from celebrities.

Finally Arrested

Higashitani was finally arrested after several pleas by the Japanese government that he be extradited from the UAE. He was accused of threatening, defaming and interfering in business activities of three people, including a Japanese actor named Go Ayano.
