In two separate incidents just a few days apart, two men were bitten by sharks while fishing in southern Florida. According to the County Sheriff’s Office, both the victims had their legs bitten by sharks and were immediately transferred to nearby health facilities.
A Nepali mountaineer has broken the world record for the highest number Mount Everest summits after he climbed for the 27th time. The record was previously set by Kami Rita Sherpa, who has expressed his desire to climb the summit for the 28th time to reclaim the title.
Facebook’s parent company, Meta, was fined $1.3 billion for mishandling the data of its users. The hefty fine was imposed by Ireland’s Data Protection Commission, which is responsible for regulating Meta across Europe. The Irish supervisory authority has also ordered Meta to suspend the movement of user data from the EU to the US, although transfer is not immediate.
