The World Health Organization has announced that the global covid health emergency is finally over. WHO has declared that the days of covid virus are over, and it no longer poses threat to human survival on a global level.
Death Drop Has Dropped
The WHO’s statement said that the death rate of the virus decreased from 100,000 people per week in January 2021 to around 3,500 on 24th of April, 2023. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the announcement shouldn’t let countries lower their defenses against the virus. In 2020, the WHO declared the covid virus had become a public health emergency and called for global action against the virus.
Vaccines, A Major Turning Point
According to the WHO, vaccines were the primary reason due to which the world was able to eradicate the deadliest virus in human history. Around the world, 13 billion doses of anti-covid vaccines have been given, playing the most important role in the eradication.
