Mcdonald’s Is Temporarily Shutting Down US Offices

Mcdonal’s is set to shut down its offices in the US amid plans to lay off some of its employees. The Wall Street Journal reported that Mcdonal’s has asked some of its employees to work from home so that it can think of how many employees to lay off.

Large Scale Restructuring

Mcdonald’s has emailed its oversea employees and employees based in the US to work remotely from their homes, while the company is planning a large-scale restructuring of itself. The global food chain didn’t specify how many employees are going to be laid off. The decision is not linked to huge layoffs in the tech industry because the company reported an 11% increase in global sales in 2022.

Reshaping The Strategy

The chief executive officer, Chris Kempczinski said that the company is aiming to come up with new strategies as the older approach is “outdated and self-limiting”. He also said that the company is working to evaluate the current roles in the organization which is going to be a difficult task for the time being.
