Recent research has revealed that those who sleep less can have a high risk of heart attacks in the future. The study also emphasizes the role of sleep and how it prevents heart-related issues. Those with insomnia were 69% more prone to heart attacks, according to the study.
Insomnia Is A Life Choice
The study presented at the American College of Cardiology’s Annual Scientific Session focused on linking Insomnia with heart attacks. It revealed that those with 4 or 5 hours of night sleep can develop heart complications in the future. Lack of sleep or insomnia is more of a “life choice” rather than an illness, stressed the author of the study, Yomna E. Dean.
Too Little Or Too Much Sleep
One of the interesting things about the study was the balance of sleep. What it meant was that too little or too much sleep can have the same consequences. The team of researchers showed that those patients who slept 7-8 hours were less likely to face heart complications as compared to those who slept 9 hours.
