The platform has been endorsed by co-founder and former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey. The goal is to create an anti-censorship social network that aims to be accessible to everybody around the globe. Nostr is already launched on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Dorsey endorsed the app’s announcement by retweeting it with “a milestone for open protocols”. He donated 14 bitcoins worth $245,000 to the new initiative. The new social networking platform is seen as an incredible alternative to twitter by many. Nostr gives its user more control over their data and all messages are secured with end-to-end encryption.

The Whistleblower Edward Snowden also praised the new platform and said that the new platform is set to replace Instagram and Twitter. Nostr is “Unlike the old social media platforms,” he said in another tweet.
