Football fans leaving Qatar are warned to look out for the symptoms of camel flu, a potentially fatal respiratory disease. UK health experts have advised health workers to look for symptoms of the deadly camel flu. Thousands of football fans traveled to Qatar for the event and perhaps came into contact with camels which can increase the number of cases.
Zoonotic Virus
Over a third of those suffering from camel flu die, compared to less than 4% of those suffering from Covid-19. According to the WHO website, it is a zoonotic virus, which can spread due to human-to-animal contact. The virus has been discovered and connected to human illnesses in dromedary camels in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
Deadlier Than Covid-19
The symptoms of camel flu include fever, coughing, and vomiting. The camel flue is considered to be deadlier than the covid as over a third of those who suffer from the condition die, compared to fewer than 4% of Covid-19 patients.
