Germany Arrests 25 People From Far-Right Movement That Were Plotting A Coup

25 people have been detained, across Germany,  by the police for being involved in an anti-government coup plot. All of the individuals arrested belonged to the far-right German organization. The members of the organization were suspected of having an organized small armed gang and had plans to capture the German parliament by force.

Citizens Of The Reich

The radical Reichsbürger [Citizens of the Reich] movement, which German authorities have long targeted for violent attacks and racial conspiracy theories, is rumored to be among the plotters. The group is believed to have opposed the current German nation-state. The objective of the organization is to topple the republic and install the Second Reich, an empire modeled after the 1871 German empire.

130 Raids

About 3,000 police officials conducted 130 raids across 11 federal states of Germany against the movement. The group had far-right ex-military individuals with the objective to seize power by force and establish their own government.
