The heads of the two largest global powers, US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping met on Monday in Indonesia as the G20 Meeting takes place in Bali, reports the Washington Post. The meeting marks the first in-person meeting of the two as presidents, as the global COVID19 pandemic and high political tensions between the two competing systems made meetings unlikely.
Central topics in the diplomatic tensions between the US and China include the war in Ukraine, military tensions in the Taiwan Strait and South China Sea and trade. The rivalry between the two countries has already been touted Cold War II by some analysts.
