A new study has revealed that the lifespan of honey bees has declined by 50% in the last 50 years. The astonishing numbers are shocking and have yet added another horror to the already decreasing population of honeybees around the world.
Why Are They Dying?
The recent study was done by entomologists at the University of Maryland and published in Scientific Reports journal. The research showed that those honey bees kept under the control group showed decreased signs of life. The lifespan has declined by 50% in the last 50 years. The research concluded that multiple reasons include pesticides, climate change, increased temperature, Diseases, and Poor Nutrition.

Pollination is the most crucial role that honey bees play. Honey bees carry the pollens and pollinate it to more than 90% of the earth’s surface. Bee pollination accounts for $15 billion in added crop value in the US.
