The troubled cryptocurrency exchange FTX has announced that $370 million worth of cryptocurrency assets were stolen in a hack, just on the same day that FTX filed chapter 11 bankruptcy, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The news comes as Sam Bankman-Fried, who resigned as CEO of the company yesterday, denies having flown to Argentina and claims he is still in the Bahamas. Speculation of the crypto mogul flying to the South American country was spurned by a Twitter account tracking his private jet.
Argentina holds an extradition agreement with the United States and just recently extradited someone to the US, thus it is not a good country to hide from prosecution.
