Monkeypox Cases Rises To 1,444 In Canada

Canada has confirmed that the monkeypox cases in the country have risen to 1444. Monkeypox is still threatening the majority of the countries in the world, with more than 109 countries reporting the virus. Monkeypox virus has been quite low in Canada in recent weeks with only 9 reported cases in the past week.

Affected Regions

Out of the total monkeypox cases, 688 are being reported from Ontario, the highest among all of the other regions of Canada.  British Columbia has reported 179 cases so far. Quebec, the largest province of Canada, has reported 525 monkeypox cases. Six and two other cases were reported in Saskatchewan and Yukon respectively.

Second Doses In Process

Across the country, second doses of the monkeypox vaccines are in process.  The second dose is for those without any symptoms for preventive measures, according to the National Advisory Committee.
