U.N. and Turkey Attempt to Save Ukrainian Grain Exports

Just a day after Russia withdrew from an agreement that permitted Ukraine to transit the Black Sea to ship grain, the United Nations and Turkey attempted to save the agreement, reports the Wall Street Journal.

Food prices globally have been increasing due to the Ukraine war, adding to inflation and increasing food insecurity in many developing countries, especially in the Middle East and Asia, creating the threat of a global hunger crisis.

Ukraine, together with the United Nations and Turkey, agreed to release 14 Ukrainian vessels into the Black Sea on Monday.
