In a three hour speech on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin sought to promote “unity of humankind”, globalism and economic integration.
He characterized the West’s approach to the rest of the world as “be like us, do like us”. In his eyes the West in its arrogance considers non-Western states below itself.
He instead called for the “careful treatment of identity of every community and nation”, saying that only this could lay “the foundation for long-term cooperation in a multipolar world”.
He further positioned Latin America, Africa and Asia as beneficiaries of this change in world order.
