President Joe Biden announced an executive order to pardon Americans convicted of Marijuana Possession under federal law. These pardons are expected to clear the criminal records of more than 6,000 Americans, allowing many of them to find jobs, go back to school and receive federal benefits.
This action is part of the federal government’s efforts to take steps toward the decriminalization of Marijuana, a popular political issue. According to a Gallup poll from last year, 68% of Americans support legalizing marijuana.
