2 Russian Soldiers Arrived In US Claiming Asylum

2 Russian soldiers have arrived in Alaska by boat amid Russian aggression in Ukraine. Russian forces have been facing hundreds of casualties in its war in Ukraine and many have protested not to join Putin’s partial mobilization last month. The 2 Russian soldiers arrived in the US by avoiding their military service in Ukraine.

Interrogation Is Going On

The authorities are involved in investigating the arrival of the 2 soldiers. Both soldiers fall under U.S. immigration laws as the investigation is underway. “The individuals were transported to Anchorage for inspection,’’ The Department of Homeland Security said. Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy later confirmed the arrival of the 2 Russian soldiers.

Falling Morale Of Russian Soldiers

The incident shows the situation of the Russian soldiers fighting for Putin in Ukraine. Russian soldiers have been confronting the sophisticated Ukrainian forces equipped with NATO military equipment which has helped them retake thousands of km from the Russian forces.
