North Korean Missile Flew Over Japan

For the first time in 5 years, North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan without any warnings. The missile flew over Northern Japan and was reported to have landed in the ocean without causing any damage in both air and water. The Ballistic missile traveled a distance of about 2,858 miles with an altitude of 621 miles over Japan.

23rd Missile Of the Year

North Korea has frequently been testing its missiles this year. This missile test is the 23rd missile launch of the year. North Korea conducted eight missile tests in 2021 and four missile tests in 2020. But the recent missile test is provocative to Japan, a close western Ally due to the time of the launch and the range of the missile.

What To Expect?

The recent missile incident should be viewed from a certain height or context. Japan borders the most volatile neighbors. From an aggressive Russia to its north and China to its south. The Russian Invasion of Ukraine and the provocative behavior of China over Taiwan is setting the context for North Korean aggressive behavior.
