On September 14th, a man that was being chased by cops died when he was tased by the police officers.
At around 3:15 p.m., Frisco police responded to a complaint that a man had attempted to purchase a vehicle using a phony ID. The unnamed dealership is located next to Ohio Drive on the 9600 block of State Highway 121.
Police claimed in a written statement that the guy fled from them after they gave him verbal directions and informed him he would be tased. He was unsuccessfully tased by an officer.
The man was subsequently tased by a second officer, which caused him to stumble and smash his head on the ground, according to the police.
Police placed the man in handcuffs and had him sit up straight before calling an ambulance.
Police reported that the man died on Thursday, September 30th after being brought to a hospital. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks.
On Monday, Frisco police identified the man as 26-year-old Genesis Hicks.
His death was confirmed by the Collin County medical examiner’s office, but no further information, such as the time and place of his death or the exact cause, was made public. The Frisco police refused to give his name and would not respond to any inquiries.
