After an anticipated jump in demand did not occur, Apple has decided against increasing the manufacturing of its new iPhones this year.
iPhone 14
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro were launched early this year. Apple had hoped that this lineup would be in hot demand.
According to Bloomberg News, the company instructed suppliers to pull back assembly of its flagship iPhone 14 product line by as many as 6 million units in the second half of this year.
Apple will still produce over 90 million iPhone 14 models for the same time period matching the exact number of iPhone 13 models they produced last year.
Demand For iPhone 14 Falls
According to Bloomberg, there is a greater demand for the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro models than for entry-level devices.
At least one Apple supplier is switching manufacturing capacity from less expensive iPhones to premium models.
