Central Ukrainian City came under Russian missile raids that rocked the entire city. The missiles targeted Karachunov reservoir dam which provides water to more than 650,000 people according to the pre-war population census.

Zelensky’s Hometown

President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the citizens to evacuate the area in order to avoid civilian deaths. The city of Kryvyi Rih is the President’s hometown that came under attack early Thursday. The city was flooded after the attack and the water rose to around 2.5 meters.

No Civilian Casualties In The Attack

Around 112 homes were flooded after 8 cruise missiles rocked the Kryvyi Rih city within a span of a few hours according to Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the city’s military administration.

So far, no civilian casualties have been reported apart from damage to the city’s major water resource.

President Zelensky posted an online message calling Russia ‘‘A terrorist state’’ after the bombings. The dam possesses ‘‘no military value” and hundreds of thousands of civilians depend on it daily, Zelensky said in a video message.
