BA.2.12.1 is a subvariant of the Omicron variant we saw a spike up last year.

Symptoms Of BA.2.12.1

A lot of the symptoms of this variant are similar to other variants. Someone with it can experience sore throat, febrile illness, diarrhea, loss of taste or loss of smell, and more.

Is It More Contagious?

According to doctors and specialists, this variety is 30% to 60% more transmissible but not more virulent in terms of disease severity.
