Water Cannon, Tear Gas At COVID-19 Protests In Brussels

On Sunday, protesters marching against COVID-19 vaccinations and restrictions were dispersed by water cannons and tear gas fired by police.

Thousands of people protested in other European capitals on Saturday in a show of solidarity with the march, which followed similar demonstrations in other European capitals against the vaccine passports and other regulations that European governments imposed to combat the Coronavirus pandemic.

Demonstrators marched chanting “Liberty!” throughout Brussels.

The protesters ignored loudspeaker announcements that said the demonstration was over, and they should leave, despite police riot officers wearing white helmets dispersing them.

The Belgian capital was filled with thick clouds of smoke and snaking trails of gas as police water cannon trucks fired powerful jets at protesters.
