Robbery Suspect Arrested At Gas Station After Lengthy Standoff With Fort Worth Police

 Fort Worth police said that a suspected robber held authorities at bay at a gas station overnight for more than five hours before he was arrested on Saturday morning.The incident did not result in any injuries.

Just after 8:30 p.m. Friday, the standoff began at a Shell gas station at 1908 Yucca Avenue just north of downtown.

According to a police call log, a 911 caller reported a robbery at a store. In addition, another 911 caller said a man with a knife was pushing people around and grabbing items inside the store.

The suspect appears to have stepped out of the store at some point.

Suddenly, a third 911 caller reported that someone was locked inside the store with the suspect, who was back inside the store.

At about 2 a.m. Saturday, the SWAT team arrived on the scene and took the man into custody.

The arrest details were not released by Fort Worth police. The matter is being investigated by Fort Worth crime detectives.
