Off-Duty NYPD Cop Busted For DWI After Queens Crash

On Tuesday morning, the NYPD busted an off-duty cop for DUI after he crashed into a car in Queens.


According to police, officer Patrick Gross, 32, was involved in an accident at the intersection of the Long Island Expressway and Cross Island Parkway at 3:50 a.m. Gross is accused of striking a vehicle.


The other driver and Gross were not injured, police said, but Gross was uncooperative, they said. Gross joined the NYPD in 2015.
According to police, he had bloodshot eyes, smelt of alcohol, and spoke incoherently.


Gross was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusing to take a breath test and damaging the peace of mind of others. He received an unpaid suspension from his job as manager.
