Taliban Seize Tons Of Abandoned Mordern US Armours Left By Afghan Forces

Taliban have seized tons of modern arms, armored vehicles, attack aircrafts and other heavy weaponries left by Afghan forces during their surrender aided to their stock by US Army.

They are rejoicing occupying abandoned American Army Helicopters carrying M24 Snipper rifles and M18 assault weapons, Humvees and US Military trucks, tanks and artilleries piles up at surrendered military stations.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said to press “We obviously don’t want to see our equipment in the hands of those who would act against our interests, or the interests of the Afghan people”

As per 2017 Government Accountability Office report, U.S. aided nearly 600,000 small arms, 76,000 vehicles and 208 airplanes to Afghanistan’s military and police from 2003 to 2016. The most recent quarterly report of the U.S. led military coalition delivered them 174 Humvees, nearly three million rounds of ammunition, and nearly 100,000 2.75-inch rockets during the period.

The U.S. has also transferred anti-tank missiles, automatic grenade launchers, mortars and rocket-propelled grenades to Afghan forces. Government Audit says, Washington has spent more than $80 billion over 20 years on the Afghan force.

It seems to create a similar fearful situation that happened in Iraq when the Islamic State Territory group seized American weapons aided to Iraqi forces defeated by IS.

Bottom Line: It is becoming a cause of fear that Taliban is going to be more equipped with modern armours left over by Afghan forces aided to them by US.
