Microsoft has expanded its Dolby Vision HDR gaming test on Xbox Series X/S consoles

Microsoft is expanding its Dolby Vision HDR gaming test on Xbox Series X/S consoles. The feature is being rolled out to the Xbox Insider Alpha ring so that more members of the Xbox community can try it out. The company wants to hear from customers before expanding the Dolby Vision HDR option, which it says will happen soon. It previously stated that it would do so this year.

According to Microsoft, Dolby Vision brings more vibrant colours, sharper contrast, and up to 40 times brighter highlights to games. It automatically adjusts the display’s picture settings. According to Microsoft, it collaborated with Dolby to develop an enhancement that “enables a more accurate HDR gaming experience when connected to a Dolby Vision-enabled TV.”

The companies are collaborating with TV manufacturers to optimize the Dolby Vision experience on as many displays as possible before releasing it to the public. If you’re a member of the Insider Alpha program and want to play games with Dolby Vision, make sure your TV has the most recent firmware installed.

As a result, you may be able to take advantage of features such as automatic low-latency mode and variable refresh rate.

Dolby Vision gaming was enabled in an Xbox Insider Alpha ring release for a few games, including Borderlands 3, Gears 5, and Halo: Master Chief Collection, according to some testers in March. Microsoft says it will release more information about the games that use Dolby Vision capabilities shortly.
