Law Enforcement Knew Suspect In Indianapolis Mass Shooting

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) named the gunman in a shooting at an Indianapolis FedEx facility as Brandon Scott Hole, 19, of Indiana, during a press conference on Friday afternoon.

Hole was also a former FedEx employee, according to police. The Marion County Coroner’s Office was still operating Friday afternoon to locate the victims and contact their relatives.

According to police, Hole committed suicide after killing eight people and wounding several others at a FedEx Ground plant.

The shooting occurred at the FedEx ground facility in the 8900 block of Mirabel Road, according to IMPD. Officers came at 11 p.m. at a tense scene, but the active shooter event had already ended and Hole was dead.

Four people were killed outside the building, and four others were killed inside. According to IMPD, four other people were taken to the hospital with injuries associated with bullet wounds on Friday afternoon. Three patients were treated at the hospital with minor injuries.

In March 2020, the IMPD responded to a mental health call. At that time, Hole was taken to the hospital and a shotgun was confiscated.

At this time, no motive has been revealed.
