Capitol Building Under Attack Again

William Evans, an 18-year veteran of the U.S. Capitol Police, was killed in an assault on the Capitol building Friday afternoon.

A second officer was also injured, but is said to be in stable condition.

Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman said the suspect, 25-year-old Indiana man Noah Green, rammed his car into two officers before striking a barricade shortly after 1 p.m.

The attacker then fled the car, brandishing a knife and lunging at a cop. The suspect was later shot by an officer and died in the hospital.

The perpetrator was not on Capitol Police’s radar, and no reason for the attack has been found. Congress was not in session so no Lawmakers were in the building during this time.
