It seems like every week there is breaking news about a mass shooting. And every week it seems like we go on without fixing any issues that can lead to stopping these mass shootings.
After another mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado grocery store, that left 10 dead there have been calls for gun control.
President Joe Biden said “I don’t need to wait another minute, let alone an hour, to take commonsense steps that will save the lives in the future and to urge my colleagues in the House and Senate to act. We can ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country once again.”
Another mass shooting in Atlanta, Georgia that left 8 that happened less than a week again is urging law makers to call for stricter gun control in the US.
Senator Richard Blumenthal had this to say “Inaction has made this horror completely predictable. Inaction by this Congress makes us complicit. Now is the time for action to honor these victims.”
The mass shootings in Atlanta and Boulder have heightened demands for Democrats to stop the filibuster, as Republicans are likely to stymie any meaningful gun law reform.
