Dubai airline Emirates has postponed the Dec. 6 launch of flights to Tel Aviv until further notice, a company spokesperson said on Sunday after Israel announced it would ban foreigners from entering in order to combat the latest coronavirus variant.
The airline has announced that it will be postponing its service to Tel Aviv due to recent changes in entry protocols issued by the Israeli government. The spokesperson said they are committed and hope for an early resumption of operations once more information is released about how this new regulation may affect them.
The Prime Minister of Israel announced that all foreign visitors will be banned for 14 days as they await information on how effective COVID-19 vaccines are against the Omicron variant.

The United Arab Emirates has been one of the most progressive countries in regards to Israel, even going so far as chartering flights for their citizens who want to visit Tel Aviv. The third local carrier set out this year -Emirates- will begin direct service from Dubai International Airport soon!
