Nancy Pelosi Going Back On Her Commitment On The Infrastructure Bill

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., warned Sunday that she may not bring the bipartisan infrastructure bill to the House floor on Monday as she had promised.

After moderates in her caucus requested a vote, Pelosi agreed to bring the bipartisan infrastructure plan to the floor for consideration by Sept. 27.

On Saturday, the House Budget Committee approved a $3.5 trillion budget resolution that includes money for climate change policy, childcare, and other social programs.

On “This Week,” Pelosi stated that the House must first address the approaching potential government shutdown on October 1. The House already passed legislation that would fund the government through December 3 and postpone the debt ceiling until December 2022.

Republicans in the Senate are anticipated to oppose a procedural vote on Monday because they’ve been saying for months that they want Democrats to tackle the debt ceiling on their own.
