Ukraine Escalates Strikes On Russian Supply Routes Near Crimea

Ukraine strikes Russian ships near Crimea, escalating attacks on fuel supplies.

Is Ukraine changing the rules of the battlefield?

Its latest wave of drone strikes suggests the fight is no longer just about the front lines. It is about cutting off Russia’s lifelines.

Kyiv says it has intensified attacks on maritime supply routes near Russian-annexed Crimea.

It says it is targeting ships in the Sea of Azov as part of what it calls a “logistics lockdown.”

Ukraine’s drone force commander, Robert Brovdi, known as “Magyar,” claimed at least 25 vessels were hit over four days.

Many are believed to be fuel tankers linked to Russia’s supply network.

Videos shared online appear to show naval drones striking ships at night, while satellite imagery indicates fewer tankers operating near Kerch after earlier attacks.

Crimea Logistics Come Under Attack

Ukraine argues these strikes are designed to disrupt fuel deliveries and weaken Russia’s ability to sustain operations in occupied Crimea.

Military analysts say targeting logistics rather than troops can have an outsized impact.

As one Russian pro-war Telegram channel admitted, the tankers had become “a shooting gallery” without adequate naval protection.

The attacks also come as Russia faces reported fuel shortages and restrictions on diesel exports, adding pressure far beyond the battlefield.

Modern wars aren’t won by firepower alone. Sometimes, the biggest blow comes from cutting the supply lines that keep the fight going.
