Ferrari Unveils First Fully Electric Car

A FULLY electric car called Luce, Italian for “light”, unvei.led by Ferrari.

Ferrari has finally gone electric — but the reaction? Let’s just say the road ahead looks bumpier than expected.

The Italian luxury automaker has unveiled its first fully electric model, the Ferrari Luce.

Marking a major shift for a brand built on roaring engines and petrol-fuelled prestige.

So what’s under the hood — or rather, under the floor?

Ferrari says the Luce (“Light” in Italian) can hit over 310 km/h, sprint from 0–100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, and travel more than 530 km on a single charge.

Fast charging reportedly takes the battery from 10% to 80% in around 20–25 minutes.

On paper, it’s still very much a Ferrari — just without the engine roar. But markets weren’t impressed.

Shares in Ferrari dropped sharply after the Rome unveiling, making it the worst performer on the Milan stock exchange that day.

Ferrari Electric Future Debate

So the big question: is this the future of Ferrari, or a risky detour?

Chairman John Elkann insisted the car preserves the brand’s identity.

It carries forward “the values that make Ferrari instantly recognisable all over the world.”

On paper, it’s still very much a Ferrari — just without the engine roar. But markets weren’t impressed.

Design also adds a tech-world twist — the project involved Jony Ive and designer Marc Newson, blending supercar tradition with Silicon Valley aesthetics.

Analysts say pricing could exceed €700,000, pushing it firmly into ultra-luxury territory.

So here’s the real question Ferrari is betting on: in a world going silent and electric, can a legend built on sound still make people feel something when the engine no longer roars?
