What should have been an ordinary school day turned into a nightmare in southern Turkey.

At least eight students and a teacher were killed when a gunman opened fire inside Ayser Calik Secondary School in the Kahramanmaras region.
More than a dozen others were injured, many critically. Outside, chaos unfolded.
Inside, panic. Students were seen jumping from windows just to escape.
Officials say the attacker, believed to be a teenager, entered classrooms armed with multiple weapons.
But the bigger question remains: why? Authorities admit the motive is still unclear, though an investigation is underway.
The suspect’s father, reportedly a former police officer linked to the weapons, has been detained.
