Three Deputies Killed In Explosion At LA Sheriff Training Center

Three killed in explosion at Los Angeles police training facility.

What was meant to be just another morning of drills turned into a deadly scene in East Los Angeles.

At least three police officers were killed Friday after an explosion tore through the parking lot of the Biscailuz Center Academy Training Facility.

The blast struck around 7:30 a.m., shaking the area and sending emergency crews scrambling.

What Caused The Explosion?

No one knows yet. But the response has been swift.

Federal agents, local police, and Homeland Security are all on the ground, combing the site for clues.

“This is a horrific incident,” said US Attorney General Pam Bondi, confirming the fatalities in a statement on X.

California Governor Gavin Newsom also weighed in, saying he’s “closely monitoring the situation” and has offered state assistance.

The facility is used by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department’s Special Enforcement Bureau—essentially, elite units in training.

Kathryn Barger, head of the LA County Board of Supervisors, echoed the grief felt across the county.

“My heart is heavy… our thoughts are with the brave men and women of the Sheriff’s Department.”

A place meant to prepare officers for danger has now become a tragic scene of its own.
