145 Festivalgoers Pricked By Syringes At French Street Music Festival

145 people pricked with syringes at France street music festival.

What should’ve been a night of music and celebration in France turned into something far more sinister.

During the country’s iconic Fête de la Musique festival, 145 people reported being pricked with syringes.

It was a disturbing wave of suspected “needle spiking” attacks.

Twelve people have been detained so far, but what exactly was injected—if anything—remains unclear.

Were these needles carrying date-rape drugs like Rohypnol or GHB?

Authorities aren’t sure yet, but toxicology tests are underway.

What Officials Are Saying?

“The ministry is taking this very seriously,” a government spokesperson told CNN.

Paris saw at least 13 cases, including a 15-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man, all reporting feeling sick after the attacks.

The capital was packed, with police estimating the crowds were up to four times larger than usual.

Even before the festival, warnings were circulating online.

Feminist voices like Abrège Soeur flagged alarming social media posts encouraging attacks on women.

Paris police chief Laurent Nuñez called those calls “completely idiotic” and said the attacks were “extremely serious.”

Beyond the syringe incidents, police arrested over 370 people across the country for various disturbances that night.

For now, the focus is on finding answers—and making sure something like this doesn’t happen again.
