On 10 June, all eyes will be on Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the Indian Air Force pilot.
He is set to become only the second Indian ever in space and the first to board the ISS.
He’s part of the four-member Ax-4 mission, launching from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center aboard a SpaceX capsule.
“It’s been an amazing journey so far, but the best is yet to come,” said a visibly moved Shukla.
His crew includes astronauts from Poland and Hungary — all representing countries returning to space after decades.
What’s The Mission?
More than piloting — he’ll assist in 60 experiments, including seven from India.
Think growing crops in space, testing algae for future missions, and even seeing how micro-animals like tardigrades handle zero gravity.
ISRO says the knowledge gained could be “phenomenal.”

And yes, Indian students will get to ask him questions while he floats in orbit.
From a chance NDA form to the edge of the universe — Shukla’s story is already inspiring millions.
His sister put it best: “He tells people to dream big. Now he’s showing them how.”
