Imagine winning a whopping $83.5 million lottery jackpot — and then not getting a dime.
Sounds unreal, right?
But that’s exactly what’s happening to a Texas woman suing the state Lottery Commission for refusing to pay her winnings.
Even three months after her ticket hit the jackpot.
The woman, known only as Jane Doe, bought her winning ticket through a lottery courier service.
Basically, an app that buys physical tickets on your behalf.
She used Jackpocket to snag her Lotto Texas ticket on February 17, and the numbers matched that very night.
What’s The Twist?
Here’s the twist: shortly after her win, the Texas Lottery Commission tried to ban these courier services.
Even though they can’t change rules retroactively.
“It shouldn’t take a lawsuit to get paid when you win the lottery,” the suit argues.

Experts say courier services offer convenience — letting people buy tickets without trekking to a store, even from out of state.
But there’s a catch: legal gray areas and the risk of mass ticket buying.
This recently made headlines when one buyer snagged 25 million tickets in just three days.
