In a dramatic shake-up of the U.S. military, President Trump just fired General Charles “CQ” Brown, the highest-ranking officer in the country.
This move is part of a broader reorganization that sees top officers—including the first woman to lead the Navy, Adm. Lisa Franchetti—out the door.
Why Trump Fired The General?
Why? Well, Trump’s team, led by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, believes it’s time to refocus the military on “deterring, fighting, and winning wars” rather than, as they put it, focusing on “woke” issues like diversity.
Gen. Brown’s departure is particularly notable.
He made headlines for being the second Black officer to hold the chairman position and for his push to boost diversity within the armed forces, something that ruffled feathers with Trump’s team.
But instead of shaking things up on diversity, it looks like Trump’s about to bring in Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan Caine, an F-16 pilot, to steer the ship.
