A man was killed and a woman was wounded when a gunman opened fire inside a Nebraska shopping mall on Saturday, according to police.
At noon, Omaha police officers rushed to news of shots fired at the Westroads Mall, where they discovered a man with bullet wounds outside a JCPenny on the first floor.
According to investigators, the victim was admitted to the CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy in critical condition, where he later died. A woman with non-life threatening bullet wounds walked into another hospital.
The criminals have left the mall and are being pursued.
As a precaution, police are searching the mall, and officials have asked people to avoid the area. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is also on the scene, according to the department.
