Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently dined with President-elect Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
The meeting signaled a surprising warming of their previously icy relationship and could add another big tech giant to Trump’s buddies list.
Trump & Mark Have A Strained Past
Historically, Zuckerberg and Trump haven’t seen eye to eye.
After the Capitol riots, Trump was banned from Facebook and Instagram, and he even threatened to imprison Zuckerberg if he interfered in the 2024 election.
However, their tensions seem to be easing.
A Meta spokesperson shared that Zuckerberg appreciated discussing the future of American innovation with Trump and his team.

Details of their dinner remain under wraps, but some speculate the discussion touched on Meta’s ongoing regulatory challenges, including antitrust cases.
Still, Zuckerberg’s rapport with Trump pales in comparison to the president-elect’s close bond with Elon Musk, who has earned the nickname “First Buddy”.
