A major fallout was seen when famous comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico ‘an Island of garbage’.
At a recent rally at Madison Square Garden, Hinchcliffe stirred controversy when he referred to Puerto Rico as labeling it a “floating island of garbage.”
What Hinchcliffe Actually Said?
During his speech, Hinchcliffe asked in a degrading tone that “there’s a lot going on”.
“I don’t know if you know this but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico,” he said.
Both members of the Republican party and the Democrats condemned the remarks which also included racist remarks about Latinos, Black individuals, and Palestinians.
Hinchcliffe Defended His Position
Hinchcliffe defended his act on social media, claiming his critics lacked a sense of humor and asserted he had “made fun of everyone.”
“I love Puerto Rico and vacationing there. I made fun of everyone… watch the whole set,” he added.
