The Israeli military has targeted several military targets inside Iran as a tit-for-tat move in response to Iran’s missile attack weeks ago.
The Israel Defense Forces said its operation was over and warned Iran not to strike back.
The attacks, Iran’s air force stated, caused limited damage but caused two fatalities of Iranian soldiers, Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.
Israeli Jets Returned Safely
The IDF said in a statement that its fighter jets were able to return safely after completing the operation.
Footage broadcast by Iranian social media showed air defenses continuously firing at apparently incoming projectiles in central Tehran without showing what was being targeted.
Why Israel Attacked Iran?
The Middle East has been on edge in anticipation of Israeli retaliation for a ballistic-missile barrage carried out by Iran on October 1.
The Iranian military used around 200 ballistic missiles fired at Israel, Iran’s second direct attack on Israel in six months.
