Two Russian cosmonauts, Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub, landed back on Earth on Monday following a record-breaking stay aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
The pair spent 374 days in low-Earth orbit, which is the longest continuous time spent on the station by any astronaut.
Individual Record of 1,111 Days
Kononenko, 60, individually set a new record for the most cumulative time spent in space by any individual.
He surpassed three years with a total of 1,111 days spent in over five space missions.
The pair were accompanied on their return by American astronaut Tracy Dyson, who had launched to the ISS in March of this year.
Capsule Landed in Kazakhstan
The three were aboard the Soyuz MS-25 capsule touched down in Kazakhstan’s vast steppe at 16:59 local time.
NASA’s video showed astronauts, scientists and public welcoming the three crew members upon their arrival to their local planet.
