The defense secretary announced the plan of deployment after Iran threatened to strike Israel after the former was allegedly blamed for the death of Ismael Haniyeh in the Iranian capital Tehran.
The Pentagon categorically mentioned that the deployments were aimed at protecting the state of Israel if it came under attack from Iran.
On the other hand, Israel has not openly claimed responsibility for carrying out an attack in Tehran.
