Dozens of staff members were hospitalized after a mass poisoning incident broke out in TikTok’s parent company ByteDance headquarters.
A total of 60 staff members fell ill and 57 were rushed to the hospital, the BBC inquired from health officials.
Both the company and health and food safety officials told the media they were investigating the incident and can’t say anything for sure at the moment.
Office Use Third Party Food Services
Meanwhile, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) authorities said they will be strict against those responsible for failing to abide by food safety laws.
As per the BBC, the staff don’t cook their own food and alway order the food via third party services to supply food.
Ambulances
The Straits Times reported that seventeen ambulances, one mass decontamination vehicle, and Singapore Civil Defense Force were immediately dispatched to TikTok’s headquarters after incident.
Local journalists have not yet confirmed which third party food service is to blame for the incident.
